AYACHIT
CREATING A DIGITAL CANVAS FOR A VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGNER
PORTFOLIO WEBSITE · VISUAL COMMUNICATION · GRAPHIC DESIGN · PERSONAL BRAND

Project
Smiti Ayachit's portfolio needed to do more than simply display finished designs.
As a Visual Communication Designer, her work spans different formats and disciplines, from publication and brand identity to logo design and campaign work. The website needed to bring these projects together while allowing each one to retain its own visual character.
The website was designed as a digital portfolio that introduces Smiti, communicates her skill set, and gives individual projects their own dedicated space.
The result is a portfolio experience where the work remains the main focus while the overall website provides a consistent framework for exploring it.

Challenge
The main challenge was presenting a diverse range of visual work without making the portfolio feel disconnected. The website needed to: - Establish Smiti's identity as a Visual Communication Designer - Showcase multiple creative disciplines - Give individual projects enough visual space - Create a simple way to explore her work - Balance personal information with professional work - Maintain consistency across very different project styles - Make the portfolio visually engaging without competing with the artwork
approach
The website was structured around a simple portfolio journey. Visitors are introduced to Smiti and her design capabilities before being given access to her individual projects. The navigation separates About, Skill Sets, Projects, and Gallery, creating clear paths through the portfolio. Each project was treated as an individual visual story rather than just another item in a grid. For example, Chic Chai explores publication design, typography, photography, art direction, media-kit development, and editorial layout. Apeel focuses on brand identity, while Miss Shroom explores logo design and visual identity. The Zouk campaign project demonstrates how campaign logos can maintain brand consistency while adapting to different themes. This approach allowed the website to showcase range while keeping the overall experience cohesive.

Result
The final website gives Smiti a dedicated digital space to present herself and her work as a Visual Communication Designer. Rather than functioning as a simple gallery, the portfolio gives visitors context around the work from the concept and target audience to the visual direction and final execution. The website brings together different disciplines under one cohesive experience while allowing projects such as Chic Chai, Apeel, Miss Shroom, and Zouk Campaign Logo to maintain their individual identities. The result is a portfolio designed not just to show what Smiti has created, but to communicate how she thinks, develops concepts, and uses visual communication to build identities and stories.
